New post, like err, 2 months later.

So much for updating the last post the next day :P. Two months later and when boredom strikes because I can't sleep - a new post is finally written.

The follow up from the Zephyr and Bjorn's wedding in July which I wrote halfway, here are a couple of kiddie meal photos that the photographer managed to take:

Yes, he's not a kid...
and yes, those are Angry Bird tags on the not-so-mini burgers. :)

Oh well, at least I can keep these for memories eh. :)

Two weeks later, I participated in a bazaar held by Switchblade, a friend's restaurant in Dutamas, KL in conjunction of their 2nd Anniversary. Took 2 tables and did quite a good sale of them baked goodies. I guess, the smell of freshly baked chicken pies from my trusty small electric oven attracted the crowd as well - just guessing, hehe :D. Anyways, thanks to Asep and Deni for organizing a great bazaar. And also Ana, my good friend and assistant for that day.

Cupcakes, brownies and chicken pies.

Me chowing down 2 and a half hotdogs in 3 minutes in a hotdog eating competition. :P
Somehow after the bazaar, I get orders pouring in for the chicken pies. During the bazaar,

Wedding organizer, nasi lemaks, chicken pies and Raya orders!

Phew! Wink, wink and it's already the fasting month of Ramadhan. How time flies!! And just when I thought I can get a breather, sit down and watch TV for the whole day, orders came pouring in each other day. Not that I'm complaining. :)

Since this year is like the wedding year with wedding invitations from friends in every single month, and usually I'll be the guest and enjoy the food. However, to be an organizer for a wedding is a totally different story. I was asked a favour by a close friend to become her wedding organizer a week before her wedding, and I agreed. Boy, it wasn't easy! Because she has been a good friend for years, I took it as a challenge. Hen's night, bridal shower, driving around to get stuffs, to call people and scold them when they became irritating, became the MC for the wedding night (and wasn't that great, I just said anything that came to mind), and the list goes on.

I was also appointed to cater food for the kids during her beach wedding at Tanjung Jara, Dungun. And so I did - Mini chicken burgers, home made patty (not so mini because the buns were huge!), spaghetti and meatballs ala Ikea, fried potato wedges and chocolate cupcakes for dessert. Most of the cupcakes, the adults took them instead :P. It was kinda difficult to bring the food from KL to Terengganu and cook in a somehow not too friendly kitchen, but overall, it was great to hear that they enjoyed the food. Thanks to the Tanjung Jara kitchen crew, especially the chefs, for letting me use their kitchen. They were really generous. At the end of the day, it was all worth the experience and am happy for my newly wedded friends! Zephyr & Bjorn, may you have a great journey ahead and make lots and lots of babies ya! ;)

As for the food photos, I didn't manage to take the photos. I actually left my camera in

MIA person is back and posting!

Ok, let's see. It has been like 1,2,3,4 months since I last updated the blog? Me and my blogs, I really need to regularly post at least something! O_o

Well, enough of that. Posting some photos of the orders and happenings during the last few months:

March
Did I tell you that this is my first time baking cheese tarts? I guess not. Well, these are the first ever batch of tarts that I made - Blueberry and Chocolate Chip. It turned out alright and I have altered it throughout the months. Them tarts looks much better now and they have the right mould to be baked in. Prices for tarts available here :)

The same day I baked the tarts was my sis's birthday. So, rather than baking her a cake (which was my initial plan), I decided to bake 2 extra large cheese tarts instead, because I had a lot of leftover crust and cheese fillings. Did fondant deco on top of each, Mr. Sponge Bob and the Cow (she calls herself Madsusu eons ago and it sticks till today).

Sis and her daughter (my niece) who celebrates 'her' birthday like 10 times a year :)

April
I was away for a couple of weeks during this month, half dead climbing Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, trying to get to its peak. I didn't reach it tho due to exhaustion and the cold, but

Last Day at the Nasi Lemak stall

February has been a long month, and my nasi lemak business at Kuchai Lama was kinda slow. So after a month of business, I have decided to cease my operation there yesterday. I did not regret with the decision, as 'rezeki' comes in different ways. I have yet to decide to look for another location. So for now, I'll be supplying them to office areas or shops from home. For those who didn't get the chance to come over to the stall, you can always order from me. I will only take orders for 10 pax and more and you can choose with or without other 'lauks': Ayam goreng rempah, Sambal Sotong, Sambal Kerang and Rendang Ayam. Price ranges from RM1.50 to RM7.00.

There are some foodie projects coming up, hopefully to be confirmed soon, Insyaallah. If that happens, I'm going to be one busy bee.

Well, other than that, I've received a couple of orders lately:

A friend, Teoh, ordered a Blueberry Cheesecake which was submerged in blueberry topping made from scratch. I did a 1/2kg for him since he didn't specifically said how big he wanted and I knew he was going to eat it alone. 1kg just for himself is just plain greedy. :)

Birthday red velvet cupcakes order from Muzie for her Liverpool fan nephew who turned 14 this year. This is the first time I ordered edible printing online, thanks to a scuba diver - baker friend, Tiara for the contact. I have to be careful

Cupcakes and Nasi Lemak!

Hola peeps!
It has been a while since I've updated the blog. Been very, very busy the last couple of weeks of baking and venturing full time into food business. And since I am still not going to fall asleep yet of exhaustion tonight, I better update now, else I don't know when I will do it next time.

Alright. I have started my own nasi lemak business. Yes, you read it right, nasi lemak. I've finally decided to do this full time after resigning from my ngo work last year. It has been tough, but then, it's better to start somewhere than just talk talk only, right. It has only been less than a week of business, but man, it's tiring! One man show... will need a helper soon. However, baking is my passion still and I will still take orders and try to make them as pretty as possible.

Well, just gonna post some photos of what I've done so far in February:

15th Birthday for Adik, my friend Ainniee's son. Simple fondant letters on red velvet cupcakes. Frosting is a teeny bit runny, but then all are good.

Received an order from a friend, red velvet cupcakes for her boss's birthday. She wanted Iphone icons, so came up with these. Thanks Ursula for the business.

My sister ordered 100 medium cupcakes for an orphanage that she volunteered in. Did vanilla and
